The Punjab government has imposed a ban on the use of mobile phones by both teachers and students in colleges throughout the province.
The Higher Education Department issued a circular, directing college directors and principals to implement this decision.
According to the circular, mobile phone usage during classes is prohibited as it disrupts the learning environment and hampers the teaching process.
This isn’t the first step taken by the Punjab government regarding mobile phone restrictions in educational institutions.

In December, a similar ban was placed on mobile phone usage by teachers and students in schools, with district education officers instructed to enforce it strictly in both public and private schools.
Moreover, the government mandated that teachers adhere to a formal dress code during school hours, requiring them to wear coats, proper shoes, and watches.
