Punjab Govt blocks Lahore roads ahead of PTI rally

LAHORE: The Caretaker government of Punjab has started blocking various roads across the provincial capital ahead of PTI rally scheduled to begin at around 2pm from Zaman Park on Monday.

The local administration with the help of police has placed shipping containers on Lahore’s various roads to block the entrance of workers ahead of  the rally, making the situation intolerable for commuters owing to snarls-up.

Eye witnesses and social media users uploaded multiple videos online, showing several roads including that of Minar-e-Pakistan, Mohini Road, Data Darbar, Bhati Chowk, Lower Mall and adjoining areas, closed by placing containers.

PTI leader Dr Shireen Mazari too took to Twitter and severely criticized Punjab government for blocking the roads, and the Election Commission of Pakistan for turning a blind eye towards the developments.
