LAHORE/PESHAWAR: Schools in Punjab and Khyber Pakthunkhwa are set to reopen on May 15 after being closed for a few days due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that all educational institutions in the province will reopen on May 15, and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), educational institutions will also reopen on the same day, while matric exams will resume as scheduled from Monday.
The caretaker governments in both provinces had closed colleges and universities on Tuesday following the arrest of PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan, which led to a deteriorating law and order situation. However, with the situation now under control, the government has decided to reopen the educational institutions.
In Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi has ordered respective authorities to keep up utmost coordination and retain a peaceful environment. The authorities have been instructed to ensure that all safety protocols are followed, and the students are provided with a safe and secure environment to study.
