More significant details have emerged regarding Muhammad Hussain, the deceased militant allegedly involved in the shooting incident on Mall Road.
According to sources, evidence has reportedly indicated that Muhammad Hussain was allegedly an active Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter and remained in regular contact with the party leadership, allegedly acting on their instructions.
Sources further claimed that Muhammad Hussain was involved in incidents of provocation, stone-pelting, and firing during protest sit-ins. He allegedly targeted security forces with firearms during the protests.
According to sources, authorities are continuing to collect further evidence concerning Muhammad Hussain, while investigations into his alleged links, activities, and role in the incidents remain ongoing.
Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar, reacting to the incident, had said that a politics of violence had become a pattern of PTI conduct. He claimed that PTI supporters arrived at protests armed with weapons and did not believe in peaceful demonstrations.
According to Atta Tarar, the firing incident on Rawalpindi’s Mall Road had clarified several issues, with further facts continuing to emerge.
He alleged that PTI’s objective was to create unrest in the country and disrupt the law-and-order situation.
