Islamabad: Contrary to earlier reports, Tahir Abbas, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker who fell from a container during the party’s recent protest, is alive and receiving medical treatment.
According to reports, Abbas, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, Punjab, was transferred to the Chief Minister’s House in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for treatment.
Initial reports had suggested that Abbas had passed away after being pushed off the container. However, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar later clarified that Abbas was injured but alive.
The incident occurred during the PTI’s Islamabad protest, which was part of the party’s “Final Call” campaign.
In a separate statement, Information Minister Ata Tarar from the opposition parties accused PTI of attempting to mislead the public regarding the incident.
Tarar claimed that the individual PTI referred to as offering prayers on the container was, in fact, making TikTok videos.
The controversy surrounding the incident continues as political tensions remain high in the capital, with PTI leaders vowing to pursue justice for their injured party members.
