Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Khan has declared that the party will challenge the cipher case proceedings against former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court. The case is currently being conducted at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
In a post on the X platform on Tuesday, Gohar Khan stated that he witnessed a lack of justice during the proceedings at Adiala Jail on Monday. He emphasized that the judicial proceedings against Imran Khan are not align with the principles of law and justice. Gohar appealed to the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court to take notice of the situation and address the serious issues affecting a fair hearing.
Gohar added that the PTI will challenge the court proceedings in the high court, seeking an immediate and open-hearted hearing. He reminded those questioning the integrity of Imran Khan that justice will prevail with the support of the people and the mercy of Allah.

The cipher case against Imran Khan and senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi reached its final stage on Monday. The court prepared a questionnaire for the accused to record their statements under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code. During the proceedings, objections were raised, and the accused expressed distrust in the judge.
Salman Safdar, the lawyer for the PTI founder, raised concerns about the court’s efficiency and urged caution in handling the case. He highlighted that the previous hearings had been declared null and void by the IHC and questioned the rush in the proceedings. The PTI founder also criticized the state defense counsel for not consulting him during key cross-examinations.
The prosecutor argued for a speedy trial, emphasizing the Supreme Court’s decision. There is a possibility that the PTI might also challenge the Toshakhana case proceedings in the Islamabad High Court.
