ISLAMABAD: Senator Saifullah Abro has joined hands with the Pakistan Peoples Party in a blow to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
Abro decided after meeting Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bilawal House in Lahore yesterday. The PTI senator also withdrew his candidacy from NA-194 in favor of the PPP.
Abro was elected to the Senate in 2021 from Sindh on a PTI ticket and was supposed to remain part of the upper house till 2027. Bilawal has steadily called on PTI voters to vote for PPP in the upcoming elections and has also hinted that he could try to form government with PTI’s candidates who are contesting as independents after the bat symbol.
