The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) recovered on Friday after a two-day losing streak, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining more than 500 points.
At close, the benchmark index settled at 176,094.11, an increase of 546.13 points or 0.31%.
Buying interest remained strong across major sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, fertilizer, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies (OMCs), power generation and refineries.
The rebound followed Thursday’s subdued session, when the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained under pressure as investors stayed cautious amid uncertainty surrounding ongoing diplomatic engagements between the United States and Iran over regional stability.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index lost 495.00 points, or 0.28%, to close at 175,547.98 in a range-bound trading session.
Meanwhile, international oil prices edged lower on Friday, although both benchmark crude contracts remained on track for monthly gains of around 20%.
Brent crude futures fell $1.03, or 1.2%, to $88.00 a barrel by 0215 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude declined $1.50, or 1.8%, to $82.09 a barrel.
