ISLAMABAD: The PTI-led federal government on Friday increased the prices of all petroleum products by three to five percent, according to a notification.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Finance, the ex-depot prices of high-speed diesel (HSD) and petrol were increased by Rs2.95 per litre and Rs3.20 per litre respectively.
Meanwhile, the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO) were jacked up by Rs3 per litre and Rs 4.42 per litre respectively. The new prices will be implemented from tonight noon. The prices of petroleum products have been increased for the second time this year.
Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) forwarded a summary to hike petrol price up to Rs13 per litre and Rs11 on the diesel.
In December 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected the summary of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) which proposed to hike prices of petroleum products by up to Rs10 per litre.
However, an increase had been made in petroleum products for 15 days starting from January 1 – 2021 including Rs2.31 per litre on petrol, Rs1.80 on high-speed diesel (HSD), Rs3.36 on kerosene oil and Rs3.95 on light diesel.
