In a message marking the tenth anniversary of the Army Public School Peshawar attack, he noted that on this day in 2014, terrorists targeted the future of the nation’s children.
He emphasized that the attackers ruthlessly killed citizens, including children, and their attack on both teachers and students reflected their malicious intentions. The assault on children was an act of cruelty, contrary to all humanitarian principles.
President Zardari pointed out that the APS tragedy revealed the terrorists’ agenda to sow chaos and instability in the country. He stressed that December 16 left an indelible mark on the collective memory of the nation.
The President conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the families of the innocent children, acknowledging the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism. In a message on the 10th anniversary of the APS attack, he reflected that even after ten years, the grief and pain remain as fresh as ever, and the nation still mourns the tragic loss of lives.
He recalled that on December 16, 2014, barbaric terrorists attacked Army Public School, mercilessly claiming the lives of 144 innocent children. Most of these children were very young, and their untimely deaths left the nation in deep sorrow.
The Prime Minister lamented that their lives, dreams, and futures were stolen, and despite the passage of time, the loss of these children will never be forgotten. He stressed that these young victims faced unimaginable cruelty and embraced martyrdom with dignity.
