President lauds Turkish song against Indian oppression in IoK

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has appreciated a song composed by Turkish lyricist highlighting the oppression being faced by the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The president wrote on his Twitter handle “Kashmir is My Name is a beautiful song written by Turkish songwriter Turgay Evren and sung by Della Miles, was a project of Aziz Babuscu, member of Turkish Parliament. He said Kashmir shall win freedom.”

In response, Aziz Babuscu, a member of Turkey’s ruling AK Party, thanked the President for sharing the song with Pakistani people. He said the Turkish state and nation are always with Kashmiri people.

Earlier Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan said that Pakistan and Turkey are brotherly Muslim countries and have an identical stand on important global issues including Kashmir.

“Pakistan and Turkey are two countries but their people feel as if they are one homeland. Their hearts beat together. Turkey today has become a symbol of dignity and justice.” Khan said in an online message on Sunday.

He described the relationship between Turkey and Jammu and Kashmir as brotherly and time-tested, and termed Turkey as a symbol of dignity and justice in the contemporary world.

Expressing gratitude for the unflinching support of the people and the government of Turkey to the Kashmir issue, he hoped that Turkey will play an active role in the resolution of Kashmir issue.

He thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for adopting a principled stand on the Kashmir issue and represented the sentiments of the Kashmiri people in the UN General Assembly.
