Policeman martyred, two terrorists killed in Islamabad shootout

ISLAMABAD: A policeman was martyred as two terrorists attacked a police party at Naka Jeelania, Islamabad.

As per details, two terrorists who were riding motorbike opened indiscriminate firing over the police party when they were asked to stop for the checking at Naka Jeelania. 

The policemen responded bravely and shot dead both the terrorists on the spot, while a cop also got martyred in the exchange of fire.

The identity of the terrorists could not be ascertained as per initial reports, while bodies have been shifted to hospital.

Getting information of the incident, IG police Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younis and other senior police officers reached the spot. 

Earlier, a policeman was martyred and another injured in a hand grenade attack in Peshawar’s Karkhano Market, the police said.

According to details, an unidentified person had hurled a grenade at the police mobile during an operation against COVID-19 SOP violations. However, Peshawar CCPO Abbas Ahsan later clarified that the mobile was on a routine patrol when it was targeted.
