The capital city traffic police has issued a traffic advisory for the citizens of Islamabad, in light of the upcoming rally. To ensure law and order, the road leading to Rawat T cross has been closed for traffic on both sides.
However, on the Chongi No. 26 side, one lane is open for both-way traffic.
Meanwhile, the roads inside the city are partially open for traffic, which can be used in case of extreme need, said Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP).
The IP has also requested that citizens avoid unnecessary travel today to avoid congestion and any difficult situations.
ITP officers are deployed along all the roads to guide the citizens if and when needed.
The major roads entering the city have been closed with containers to prevent any untoward situation caused by the protest rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
PTI has issued a ‘final call’ for its members and supporters to gather in Islamabad today, November 24, to protest against the 26th constitutional amendment and for the release of their incarcerated members, including former PTI chairman Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, the federal authorities have refused to grant permission for the protest because of security threats. Section 144 is also active in Islamabad since Monday (November 18) and is likely to stay in place for two months.
