A case has been registered by police in the jurisdiction of City Khanpur Police Station against a man accused of making offensive remarks about government officials while sitting at a hotel.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), a police patrol was present at Baldiya Chowk on routine crime prevention duties when officers observed several people at a nearby hotel engaged in what was described as provocative discussion.
During the conversation, it was alleged that a man had uploaded a TikTok video containing abusive and derogatory remarks directed at government officials.
The FIR states that police viewed the TikTok video at the scene and found the allegedly offensive content. Following initial inquiries, the identity and address of the suspect were established, and the video was downloaded from social media and taken into police custody as evidence.
According to the FIR, the suspect’s actions allegedly caused widespread public anger.
Police further alleged that, by using abusive and offensive language against government officials, the accused committed offences punishable under Section 124-A of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 21 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
