PM Shehbaz Sharif to meet opposition leader today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Opposition Leader Raja Riaz today during which consultation on the name of the Caretaker Prime Minister will be held.

According to the details, the process of consultation in the name of the caretaker prime minister could not be completed yet. Various names are being considered for the post of caretaker prime minister to take over the administration of the interim government.

Earlier, opposition leader Raja Riaz said in a statement that there is no deadlock on the matter of the caretaker prime minister, and he will try his best to finalize the name of the caretaker prime minister today along with PM Shehbaz Sharif.

Names have been proposed by various political parties for the caretaker prime minister. PPP proposed the names of former Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and former Chief Justice Tasadeq Jilani, while the PML-N has not yet proposed names.

After signing the summary of the dissolution of the National Assembly by the President, the current setup has three days to finalize the name of the Caretaker Prime Minister, after which the matter will go to the Parliamentary Committee and then to the Election Commission.
