ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a “warm and cordial” telephonic conversation on Wednesday morning, focusing on the volatile regional security situation and the need for immediate de-escalation across the Middle East.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders exchanged heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Royal Family, and the “brotherly people” of the Kingdom. The Crown Prince warmly reciprocated these sentiments, underscoring the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
The conversation comes at a critical juncture for regional stability. Prime Minister Shehbaz issued a strong condemnation of recent attacks targeting the Kingdom, reaffirming Pakistan’s “complete solidarity and unequivocal support” for Saudi Arabia.
“Pakistan stands firmly with the Kingdom and its people during these challenging times,” the Prime Minister noted, according to official sources. He also expressed high appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s “remarkable restraint” in the face of ongoing provocations, describing it as a vital contribution to preventing a wider conflagration.
