ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Azerbaijan on a two-day official visit.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister welcomed Shehbaz Sharif upon his arrival in Baku. PM Shehbaz Sharif will meet with President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Azerbaijan. After the meeting, both leaders will also talk to the media, as per the PM office.

A delegation of Ministers of Azerbaijan will also meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in this meeting there will be discussions regarding the promotion of trade between the two countries and cooperation in the energy sector.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Federal Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Mossadegh Malik, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan was invited for this visit by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. On the other hand, the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved the signing of an agreement to purchase LNG from Azerbaijan, the LNG from Azerbaijan will be purchased on a rolling basis for a requirement of at least 3 months.
