DAVOS: Prime Minister Imran Khan has met Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
Imran Khan and Ilham Aliyev discussed the matters of mutual support and brotherly bilateral ties in the meeting. Both reiterated mutual support for each other’s national causes and resolved to further deepen bilateral relations in all fields.
The prime minister during the meeting appreciated Azerbaijan’s role on the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) issue as a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He also reiterated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh.
President Aliyev expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent support on the Nagorno Karabakh issue. Aliyev also extended an invitation to Khan to visit Azerbaijan.
Imran Khan, who attended Davos frequently before he came to power in 2018, is among the region’s most prominent delegates this year. Khan met US President Donald Trump and would meet Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani.
