KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that PM Imran Khan had eased the lockdown restrictions to facilitate people after consultations with all stakeholders.
While talking to media in Karachi today, Imran Ismail said that PM eased the lockdown to ensure the timely supply of essential goods and other facilities to the people of the country.
Imran Ismail further said that the center was equally concerned about the situation in Sindh because it was one of the federating units.
The governor observed that most citizens of the province were facing hardship due to the COVID-19 lockdown. At the same time, he added, it would be nearly impossible for the concerned officials to reach out to each and every people in difficulty if areas were sealed off.
He said the whole country acknowledges that PM Imran Khan’s policy related to COVID-19 lockdown was correct.
Imran Ismail said that the need of the hour is to build consensus with all political parties over the coronavirus lockdown epidemic, adding that unity is essential to battle against the disease.
He also urged the citizens to follow precautionary steps and practice social distancing, adding that “This war cannot be won without the help and cooperation of the people.”
