ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister has arrived in Riyadh for talks with Saudi leadership on entire spectrum of bilateral relations and situation in region.
Governor Riyadh Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Pakistan’s Ambassador Raja Ali Ijaz welcomed him at Airport in Riyadh.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) in Madina and offered prayers. The prime minister had arrived Saudi Arabia on his one-day official visit. Foreign secretary Sohail Mahmood accompanied the prime minister.
Upon arrival, he was received by Deputy Governor of Madina and Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah Khalid Majeed. Officials of Saudi protocol and officers of Pakistan Consulate were also present.
The visit is part of regular exchanges between the leadership of both the countries. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have brotherly relations deep rooted in history and based on mutual trust and understanding.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said the visit was part of bilateral cooperation and regular exchanges between the leadership of the two countries.
This would be PM Imran Khan’s fourth visit to Saudi Arabia this year. His earlier visits were in May, September and October. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman paid a visit to Pakistan in February.
During his last visit to Saudi Arabia in October, PM Imran Khan had met Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in a bid to ease tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Separately, the prime minister also held delegation-level talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two talked about bilateral relations, regional peace and security and global political situation.
