PIC attack: Police to present detained lawyers in ATC today today

LAHORE: The police will present detained lawyers in the Anti-Terrorism Court today over the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack.
At least 29 more lawyers have been arrested raising the number in the incident to 81. The case will be heard by Special ATC Judge Abdul Qayyum.
Government lawyers will appeal the court for a 15-days physical remand for all accused. Strict security measures have been taken to avoid any unfortunate situation.

The FIR against the accused lawyers was lodged in Shadman Police Station in Lahore a day after the attack. The group of lawyers was arrested on Wednesday with the help of CCTV footage installed in the PIC hospital.

The lawyers, who were protesting inside the PIC hospital over a dispute with young doctors, slapped and severely manhandled the provincial minister when he arrived at the hospital to hold talks with the protesters.
