LAHORE: The strike of lawyers against the arrest of their colleagues has entered the 5th day today over the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack.
In this regard, the lawyers will not appear before the court in Punjab. The Punjab Bar Council has warned the policemen and officers not to enter the courts in uniform.
As announced earlier last week, the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan would observe a strike against the arrest of convicted lawyers.

On 11th December, a group of lawyers stormed the hospital and damaged dozens of vehicles. They also set ablaze a police van during their assault. During the incident, the physicians and nurses were brutally tortured by the lawyers at the PIC hospital.
In this regard, at least 29 more lawyers have been arrested raising the number in the incident to 81. The FIR against the accused lawyers was lodged in Shadman Police Station in Lahore a day after the attack. The group of lawyers was arrested with the help of CCTV footage installed in the PIC hospital.
