Pakistanis are preparing for another financial hit as the price of petrol and diesel is anticipated to rise for the second half of July.
According to reports in local media, there is a strong likelihood of an increase in petrol and diesel prices effective from July 16.
The price of petrol per liter is expected to surge by approximately Rs7.68, while diesel is projected to see an increase of Rs3.72 per liter. These new prices are expected to remain in effect for the next two weeks.
If implemented, the per liter price of petrol will soar to Rs273.29, and diesel will reach Rs281.17 per liter.
In the last review two weeks ago, the government of Pakistan raised the price of petrol by Rs7.45 per liter, setting it at Rs265.61 per liter.
It is important to note that Pakistan recently increased the levy on petroleum products by Rs20 to comply with IMF demands for a new bailout package potentially amounting to $7 billion.
