ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that the nation should hope for a general election by November 10, under which a new government will be elected.
According to the details, during a recent interview, the energy minister Khurram Dastgir said he fully hopes that this year will be the year of elections. “It is expected that the Prime Minister may decide to dissolve the National Assembly a day or two earlier,” Dastgir maintained.
During the interview, Khurram Dastgir said that the people of Pakistan should fully expect to vote for the new government which could be on November 10 or even earlier. “On August 12, the current Parliament will dissolve itself after completing its term,” he said.
It should be noted that the former ruling political party Tehreek-e-Insaf had launched a nationwide movement for early elections across the country. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that his government was overthrown under a foreign conspiracy.
On the other hand, the current government has never openly given any date regarding the elections, however, Khurram Dastgir’s statement seems to be announcing a clear date for the upcoming elections on behalf of the current PDM government.
