ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned ARY News anchorperson Kashif Abbasi from hosting his program, ‘Off the Record’, and from appearing on any other channel for 60 days.
PEMRA issued the notice to Kashif Abbasi and shared on micro-blogging website, Twitter, and said that the program in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader and Federal Minister Faisal Vawda brought a military boot and put it on the table, which was an “ attempt to debase and demean a state institution.”

According to the notice, PEMRA said that Faisal Vawda “performed a very unethical act” and his actions were “derogatory” and “extremely frivolous”.
PEMARA further said that the role of the anchorperson was “quite unprofessional who actually did not intervene or stopped that unethical act and was kept smiling/cherishing such occurrence.”
