Sana Mir has been dropped from the women’s T20 squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
The women’s chief selector Urooj Fatima announced the 15-member T20 squad which will be led by Bisma Mahroof.
Urooj Fatima while announcing the squad has said that best players have been selected in the squad while keeping Australian conditions in mind.
She said, “The selected squad is competitive and we believe that this team will perform strongly in the mega event.”
On a question about Sana Mir missing the squad, Urooj Fatima said, “the recent performances of Sana Mir against Bangladesh series and National T20 women’s cricket championship was not up to mark.”
Urooj further said that the selected squad has the ability to beat world class teams and have a combination of youngsters and experienced players.
It is worth mentioning here that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will start from February 21 in Australia. Pakistan will play its first match against West Indies on February 26.
