Parts of Karachi received light rain in the wee hours of Tuesday.
As per details, the areas that witnessed a light downpour include II Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Korangi, Landhi, Super Highway, Nooriabad, Kathor, and other adjacent localities.
After the rain, a fresh wave of cold weather gripped Karachi.
The Meteorological Department forecast that the cold weather will persist across most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, with upper districts expected to remain overcast.
Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Kashmir, and nearby hilly terrains are predicted to receive rain and snowfall in the mountains.
Reacting to the weather conditions this morning, a citizen aptly puts it, “It’s essential to stay prepared for such weather fluctuations. We’ve experienced sudden changes before. Hence, adapting quickly is crucial.”
Meanwhile, presenting a 24-hour weather forecast on Monday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that heavy snowfall over the upper parts of the country may affect transportation on January 30-31.
In a statement, the Met Office advised the tourists to remain cautious during the two days (Tuesday and Wednesday).
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting the western and upper parts of the country and is likely to persist over the upper parts for the next few days.
During the last 24 hours, mainly cold and partly cloudy weather prevailed in most areas of the country.
However, KP, Kashmir, Islamabad, Pothohar region, and GB received rain. Fog prevailed over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
