ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has stated that several parts of the country will likely receive light to moderate rain from today.
According to the PMD, moderate monsoon spell entered in the upper and central parts of the country on Friday and will strengthen today.
A westerly wave is also expected to enter the upper parts of the country on Saturday. Rain with thunderstorms is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next week breaking the persistent heat spell.
Rain with dusty winds is expected in parts of Balochistan and Sindh from today. The PMD department has alerted concerned authorities and has issued an advisory to handle situations during upcoming thunderstorms and rains starting from Friday.
There is also a possibility of landslides in vulnerable areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the forecast period.
