RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has declared that the participation in the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan is a confirmation of solidarity with Pakistan and its people in facing the ramifications of floods and an extension of what the Kingdom has provided of support and contributions in the humanitarian field to assist affected people.

The declaration came just a day after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman directed to study options of increasing Saudi Arabian investments in Pakistan to $10 billion, from the previous $1 billion announced in August.

Similarly, Prince Mohammed had also asked the Saudi Development Fund to consider raising the ceiling for Saudi deposits into Pakistan’s central bank as part of measures to support its struggling economy.

In its cabinet meeting, Saudi Arabia said that the Kingdom’s participation in the conference that took place in Geneva on Monday was an extension of the Kingdom’s support for and contribution to providing humanitarian relief to those affected by devastating floods that swept the country last year.
