ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to Allah after Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves reached a record level, describing the development as another major achievement on the economic front.
The prime minister said the improvement reflected the tireless efforts of the economic team and policy decisions taken in the right direction, which he said were helping restore international confidence in Pakistan’s economy.
Highlighting the positive impact of the government’s economic policies, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the national economy was now firmly on the path to recovery. He described the rise in foreign exchange reserves as an important indicator of economic stability.
The prime minister attributed the improvement to several factors, including a significant increase in remittances from overseas Pakistanis, better performance in services exports and an improvement in the current account position. He also credited fiscal discipline and timely policy decisions with providing support to the economy.
He further said Pakistan had once again successfully accessed international capital markets, describing the development as evidence of growing global confidence in the country’s economy.
According to the prime minister, the stronger economic position would help ease pressure on external payments and strengthen Pakistan’s ability to deal with global economic challenges.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also expressed hope that the renewed international confidence would open new avenues for foreign investment and contribute to the creation of employment opportunities.
He praised the finance minister, the entire economic team and, in particular, overseas Pakistanis for their contributions to the country’s economic progress.
