The final match of the two-Test series between Pakistan and the West Indies has entered its final stages. Pakistan needs 151 runs to win, while the West Indies requires four more wickets to claim victory.
Currently, both new batsmen, Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan, are at the crease. At the start of day three, Saud Shakil was dismissed for 13 runs, and night-watchman Kashif Ali was out for just one run.
On day two of the Multan Test, Pakistan’s second innings faced difficulties in chasing down 254 runs set by the West Indies. By the end of the second day, Pakistan had scored only 76 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Captain Shan Masood and Mohammad Huraira were dismissed for 2 runs each, Kamran Ghulam made 19, and Babar Azam was out for 31. The West Indies began their second innings with a 9-run lead, and captain Kraigg Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis set a solid foundation with a partnership of 50 runs.
However, Mikyle Louis was dismissed for 7, and Aamer Jangoo continued with Brathwaite, adding 92 runs together. Brathwaite scored 52 runs before being dismissed by Nauman Ali, and the rest of the West Indian batsmen continued to add runs, though wickets also fell regularly.
Tevin Imlach made 35, and Kevin Sinclair contributed 28 runs, before the entire West Indies team was dismissed for 244 runs, setting a target of 254 runs for Pakistan to win. Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan each took four wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Kashif Ali each claimed one wicket.
In the first innings, West Indies had been dismissed for 163 runs in their first innings, and Pakistan managed only 154 runs in response. It is worth noting that Pakistan won the first Test match of the two-match series.
