A Pakistani woman Seema Haider Jakhrani, with her four children in tow crossed the border into India to visit her sweetheart whom she had met through the well-liked online game PUB-G, claimed that she had converted to Hinduism and had changed the names of her children accordingly.
According to the Times of India, Seema Haider from Pakistan expressed that she had embraced Hinduism and decided to adopt Sachin’s surname, relinquishing her own. Furthermore, she asserted that she modified her children’s names to align with her newfound faith.
Meanwhile, reports said that Sachin parents are planning a formal marriage function for the couple as per Hindu tradition soon.
“Seema is a name common among Hindus and Muslims, so Sachin suggested that I need not change my first name. I can go by Seema or Seema Sachin. We have also changed our children’s names to Raj, Priyanka, Pari, and Munni,” Seema told TOI.
Recently granted bail, the woman reunited with her partner Sachin Meena at their residence in Rabupura, Greater Noida, on Saturday. Seema Haider, now Seema Meena, had been arrested for illegally entering India and residing in Greater Noida without proper documentation. A local court ordered her to serve a 14-day judicial custody and ruled that her four children would stay with her in jail, as reported by the police.
It should be noted that Seema Jakhrani, a resident of Jacobabad city of Sindh province, had earlier reached India to marry her lover, her husband has confirmed it by issuing a video statement. 29-year-old mother of four Seema along with her children reached India from Karachi to Dubai then from Dubai to Nepal.
The former husband said that my wife was living in Karachi with her four children; she became friends with an Indian boy through an online game.
According to media reports, the woman reportedly sold a portion of her land to finance her journey, amounting to approximately Rs 12 lakh. Sachin Meena, in conversation with TOI, shared that his family had accepted Seema and her children. He also appealed to Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to grant Indian citizenship to his wife.
In her various statements and interviews given to the media, Sima Jakharani said that her name is now Seema Sachan, and she has left Pakistan and her past behind, adding that she is not related to Pakistan or her former family anymore.
She said that since her new husband is a Hindu, that is why she is also adopting Hinduism, while reacting to the fact that she was not divorced by her ex-husband, she said that after conversion to Hinduism, her nikah is no longer valid.
