ATTOCK: A skilled Pakistani craftsman has handcrafted an exquisite pair of gold-embroidered sandals as a gift for US President Donald Trump, showcasing Pakistan’s rich artisanal heritage.
Attock, a culturally vibrant district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is renowned for its traditional handcrafted footwear known locally as Shri Kherr—luxurious golden-embroidered sandals. These sandals, deeply rooted in the regional culture, have long been a symbol of craftsmanship and heritage.
Master craftsman Muhammad Nisar from Hazro Chhachh, Attock, previously crafted and gifted a pair of these elegant sandals to Pakistan’s then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Now, the dazzling craftsmanship is set to reach the halls of the White House, as Nisar has meticulously created a stunning golden pair of Shri Kherr for President Donald Trump, who recently took the oath for his second term.
The Pakistani artisan believes that this unique gift will not only be a token of goodwill but could also strengthen ties between Pakistan and the United States, fostering warmth and cultural appreciation between the people of both nations.
Muhammad Nisar is eager to send this handcrafted masterpiece to President Trump. It remains to be seen how this heartfelt gesture will be received.
