LONDON: Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom has announced improved consular service arrangements aimed at facilitating overseas Pakistanis.
According to details available from multiple media outlets, Pakistan’s High Commission in the UK has entered into an agreement with a designated service provider to streamline visa and consular services for the Pakistani community living there. The initiative is intended to enhance accessibility while eliminating unauthorised and fraudulent operators involved in such services.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Muhammad Faisal, said the move would ensure that overseas Pakistanis receive reliable and standardised services through officially recognised centres. He added that the agreement would help establish a network of facilitation centres across the UK, offering services related to visas, documentation, and other consular matters.
The envoy emphasised that the step reflects the government’s commitment to prioritising the needs of overseas Pakistanis and addressing long-standing concerns regarding service delivery. He noted that the new system would also improve transparency and efficiency in the processing of applications.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to provide greater ease and support to Pakistanis residing abroad, who play a significant role in the country’s economy through remittances and global representation.
