Pakistan reports 545 new COVID-19 cases, six deaths

ISLAMABAD: At least 545 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan and the total number of people affected by the epidemic has reached 303,634.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, there have been six deaths from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours and the total death toll has reached 6,399.

In Pakistan, 291,169 coronavirus victims have recovered and the number of active cases has come down to 6,066. During the last 24 hours, 31,808 tests of coronavirus have been done across the country and so far 3,056,795 tests have been done.

The number of corona cases in Sindh has reached 132,818. 98,041 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,185 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 13,798 in Balochistan, 16,005 in Islamabad, 2,451 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 3,336 in Gilgit.

The coronavirus has killed 2,223 people in Punjab and 2,451 in Sindh, while the number of deaths in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,257, Islamabad to 178, Balochistan to 145, Gilgit-Baltistan to 79 and Azad Kashmir to 66.

There are facilities for corona patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for corona patients in hospitals is 1,920. There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities.

According to the government, the graph of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is constantly coming down but the threat is not over yet.
