ISLAMABAD: At least 2,512 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while 63 more people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,221,261 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 27,135 people lost their lives to the virus. During the last 24 hours, 57,077 tests were performed to diagnose corona, bringing the total number of tests to 1,87,97,433.
Across the country, the coronavirus test result was 4.04%. The highest number of cases were reported in Sindh and in Punjab. In Punjab, the virus infected 420,615 people and killed 12,365. In Sindh, 449,349 the virus cases and 7,243 deaths were reported.
Coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa affected 170,738 people and killed 5,374. In Balochistan, 32,722 cases and 344 deaths were reported. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 10,232 people were infected with coronavirus while 182 died.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 33,682 people were infected with coronavirus while 728 died. In Islamabad, the virus infected 13,923 people and killed 899. The number of active cases of coronavirus across the country reached 64,564.
In the last 24 hours, 3,610 coronavirus patients across the country have succumbed to the virus, bringing the number of healthy people to 1,129,562. The death rate in the last one day was 2.2 percent.
