KARACHI: A further 46 deaths and 2,338 new cases have been reported in Pakistan due to the coronavirus.
According to the National Command and Control Center, the total number of deaths from corona in the country has reached 13,476 while the total number of affected people has reached 62,536. The number of active cases across the country is 19,764. 569,296 people have recovered from the virus.
The highest number of deaths due to corona was in Punjab where 5,732 people lost their lives while 4,453 in Sindh, 2,147 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 522 in Islamabad, 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 202 in Balochistan and Azad. 317 people have lost their lives in Kashmir.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 47,365, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 75,357, Sindh 260,959, Punjab 183,815, Balochistan 19,188, Azad Kashmir 10,892 and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,960.

Coronavirus vaccination is underway in Pakistan and in the second phase, people over the age of 60 are being vaccinated. Moreover, Pakistan has joined a new United Nations (UN) public advocacy campaign ‘Only Together’ which calls for coronavirus vaccines to be available to everyone and everywhere to contain the deadly pandemic.
In a tweet, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram said he is joining the UN in a call to ensure equitable access and distribution of the coronavirus vaccine. He said it is vital to control the pandemic for quick recovery of the virus-hit world economy.
