The federal government has announced another increase in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, effective July 31.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs2.42 per litre, while the price of petrol has been raised by Rs1.09 per litre.
Following the latest revision, the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs394.04 per litre, while petrol will now cost Rs336.15 per litre.
The latest adjustment comes a day after the government announced an increase of Rs2.24 per litre in the price of diesel, while reducing the price of petrol by Rs0.75 per litre.
According to a foreign news agency, the price of Brent crude oil, which is considered the global standard, decreased by $ 1.29 per barrel, after which it came to $ 89.45 per barrel.
Similarly, the price of American West Texas Intermediate crude oil was also trading at $ 83.90 per barrel after a decrease of 56 cents or 0.66 percent.
