ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqui has said that Pakistan proposed a strategic sanctions dialogue for South Asia that leads to avoidance of weapons.
Ayesha Farooqui said that India’s inclusion of a ballistic missile defence system should not lead to any kind of security and misunderstanding because we had the technical capability to ensure its prevention.
In response to a question during a briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson once again supported the One China policy, by saying that there was only one China, and Taiwan was part of it.
On the issue of the occupied Kashmir, she said that Pakistan had welcomed United States President’s offer to mediate the role of occupied Kashmir.
Earlier Farooqui had confirmed that US President Donald Trump would not visit Pakistan next month.
She said that Trump would visit India in February but his stay in Pakistan was not included.
According to Ayesha Farooqui, Trump wants to have a separate visit to Pakistan that would not be linked to any other visit to the region.
