To assist overseas Pakistanis, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed on Sunday that passports be issued within a week, according to Radio Pakistan.
During his visit to Passport and NADRA centers in London, he announced that normal passports will now be issued within 30 days, applying this policy to all Pakistani missions abroad.
Minister Naqvi addressed the delay in passport issuance for overseas Pakistanis, noting that normal passports were previously taking around four months and urgent ones about one and a half months.
He emphasized that no further delays would be tolerated and promised action against any failure to issue passports within the specified timeframe.
A monitoring cell was established to ensure timely delivery of passports, led by the Personal Staff Officer to the Interior Minister, ASP Shahrbano.
Overseas Pakistanis can lodge complaints at the email address: passport@interior.gov.pk if they do not receive their passports on time.
During the visit, Minister Naqvi interacted with Pakistanis at the centers. The visitors expressed satisfaction with NADRA’s performance, leading the Minister to commend the NADRA staff for their good work.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, accompanied the Interior Minister on this visit.
