The Nishtar Hospital Multan administration, admitting the disappearance of more than 1,500 electric fans from its storage facility, has sought police action over the alleged theft.
The development comes months after the hospital faced scrutiny over a separate medicines theft case, raising new questions about inventory management and security at one of southern Punjab’s largest public healthcare institutions.
According to an application submitted to the Cantonment Police Station by the hospital’s security in-charge, Muzammil, more than 2,100 fans had been stored in the hospital’s basement. 
However, an inspection later revealed that over 1,500 of them were missing.
The hospital administration, which had previously denied reports of missing fans, has now officially admitted the loss and requested that a criminal case be registered to investigate the matter.
