More than 100 children have lost their lives in Parachinar due to the lack of medical facilities caused by road blockades during the ongoing tribal conflict in the region.
The tribal conflict in Parachinar has not only claimed over 100 lives but has also paralyzed the district, with all major and minor routes blocked. Residents are struggling to access essential food and medical supplies as the crisis deepens.
Protests demanding immediate action to reopen the roads have entered their sixth day.
Agha Muzamil, Chairman of Upper Kurram Tehsil, lamented the devastating impact, stating, “Residents are unable to access basic needs like healthcare and food due to road closures. Over 100 children have succumbed to the lack of medical care.”
In a bid to address the crisis, Kurram’s Deputy Commissioner announced the arrival of a Grand Jirga in the district to mediate peace talks and resolve the longstanding tribal dispute. Authorities are hopeful that these negotiations will lead to stability and the reopening of critical access routes.
