Opposition leaders protest for imprisoned politicians

NA all set to celebrate golden jubilee of 1973 Constitution
ISLAMABAD: The opposition staged a protest in front of Parliament House on Thursday against the non-issuance of production orders for various politicians who are currently under custody.
According to reports, several parliamentarians from the opposition also called for the issuance of production orders of members from the National Assembly and Senate who have been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The members who protested include senior members from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The protesters also donned black armbands to highlight their cause, and displayed posters of PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Sanaullah, and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri had earlier informed the Lower House that NAB had taken the Speaker into confidence about the arrest of PPP leader Khursheed Shah.
PML-N leader Khawaja Asif criticized the arrest of Shah, elaborating that the PPP leader was arrested during the assembly session yesterday.
