The Punjab government has launched a mobile application to facilitate the families of prisoners.
Online Mulakat App (developed by the Punjab IT Board) will facilitate families of inmates. Available on the Google Play Store, the mobile application allows users to skip long physical queues by securely scheduling visits, adding multiple visitors, and receiving instant digital tokens
Families can book prison visits in advance, eliminating the need for intermediaries or physical paperwork. After booking, users receive a unique token number to present at the jail front desk for a smooth check-in.
The app sends automated updates if a scheduled meeting is canceled for security or administrative reasons.
Families can use digital channels like JazzCash, EasyPaisa, or Raast to seamlessly transfer funds directly into a prisoner’s upgraded savings account, avoiding manual hassles.
Authorities said the aim of the new application is to provide a modern and convenient system for visitors to prisons, helping them avoid long waiting times and unnecessary crowding.
