RAWALPINDI: A man was killed and three people injured when a car turned turtle at Committee Chowk, the underpass on Tuesday.
According to Rescue1122, a private car going toward Faizabad turned turtle after colliding with a side barrier due to over speeding at Committee Chowk, underpass. As a result, Abdul Razzaq (25) Amir (22), Shakir Ullah (19), Mohammad Waheed (46) got critical injuries.
On information, Rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the critically injured to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. During treatment, one injured succumbed to his injuries.
Earlier on Sunday, at least eleven people including women and children were killed and four others sustained injuries after a truck overturned at the Sangi area in the Sukkur district of Sindh.
Rescue sources said at least eleven people succumbed to their injuries after a truck carrying the passengers and bricks overturned. The vehicle was coming from Lahore to Karachi when it overturned near Sukkur. The deceased hailed from the same family.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a Pano Aqil hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively. It may be mentioned that road accidents are frequent on highways due to over-speeding and negligence from drivers.
