ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan called on the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani at his office in Doha.
The Qatari prime minister extended warm welcome to the visiting minister. Omar Ayub conveyed regards of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
Omar Ayub Khan appreciated Qatar’s remarkable development and resolve for self-sufficiency.
He briefed the Qatari prime minister over existing investment opportunities in Pakistan and requested for recruitment of increased number of manpower from Pakistan.
He also emphasised the importance of investment in innovative technologies especially innovation in energy.
The Qatari prime minister expressed satisfaction at the existing level of close cooperation between the two countries and agreed that there is a lot of room for further improvement. Omar Ayub invited him to visit Pakistan at a convenient time.

On Monday, Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan on Monday held seperate meetings with Finance Minister of the state of Qatar Ali Shareef Al Emadi and Minister for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al Kaabi in Doha.
During the meeting, the federal minister underlined the importance of further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to work together with the State of Qatar to widen and deepen economic ties between the two countries.

The Qatari finance Minister said that Pakistan and Qatar enjoyed close and fraternal cordial relations which were multifaceted and deep rooted. Qatar would enhance and diversify the bilateral relations with the new political leadership in Pakistan.
In a separate meeting, the Qatari energy minister reiterated his commitment of working together with Pakistan in areas of mutual interest.
The federal minister stressed to build on the existing solid relations between two brotherly countries and commitment to full cooperation in energy sector.
Omar Ayub is on a two-day visit to Doha where he will co-chair the 5th Pak-Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission in Economic, Trade, and Technical Cooperation.
The forum will will explore the bilateral cooperation in various fields including energy, investment, manpower, sports, trade, industry, education, science and technology.
