OGRA recommends cutting Rs5.89 per litre in petrol prices from Mar 1

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended cutting Rs5.89/ litre in the prices from tomorrow.
In a notification, the OGRA in this regard submitted a recommendation to the Petroleum Division in which it had advised cutting Rs5.89/ litre in the petrol prices from 1st March i.e. tomorrow.
The summary also recommended reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs7.23 per litre. New prices will be enforced today at midnight if the summary was approved.
Earlier on January 31, the OGRA estimated a 2 percent rise in diesel prices and a marginal decrease in the petrol rate for the month of February based on existing tax rates.
A government official informed media reporters that Ogra sent a summary to the government on Thursday providing petroleum price estimates based on existing General Sales Tax (GST) and petroleum levy rates, he said the Ministry of Finance would notify the ex-depot petroleum product prices on 31st January.
