Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider has undertaken a significant initiative to remove all male educators from women’s universities in Punjab.
This action is intended to combat harassment and enhance the safety of female students, in light of multiple reported incidents involving harassment by male faculty members.
The governor has stated that stringent penalties will be imposed on individuals found guilty of harassment within university and college environments.
To mitigate the risk of such incidents of intimidation against women, the processes for paper preparation and evaluation will be adjusted for greater flexibility, and directives will be issued to all university administrations concerning these issues.
Nonetheless, the decision to exclude male professors and teachers from women’s institutions represents a pivotal measure in this effort.
Concurrently, vice-chancellors and professors will receive performance evaluation forms, which will aid in making informed decisions regarding rewards and disciplinary actions.
