The National Highways Authority has announced an increase in toll taxes for vehicles by up to 30% on national highways and several motorways. The revised rates are scheduled to come into effect from July 1.
The toll taxes have been raised on National Highways and various motorways including M-1 (Islamabad–Peshawar Motorway), M-3 (Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway), M-4 (Faisalabad-Multan Motorway), M-5 (Sukkur Multan Motorway), and M-15 (Hazara Motorway). However, no announcement has been made regarding the M-2 Lahore-Islamabad motorway.
For cars, the toll tax on National Highways has been increased from Rs30 to Rs40. Similarly, wagons, buses, and other vehicles will also incur higher tolls.
The toll tax for cars traveling the entire length of the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway M-1 has been raised from Rs240 to Rs350. Meanwhile, on the M-3, the toll tax for vehicles has been increased from Rs390 to Rs500.
On the M-4 Motorway, the toll tax for cars has been raised from Rs510 to Rs650. Furthermore, the toll tax for the M-14 Islamabad–Dera Ismail Khan motorway has been set at Rs550.
