KARACHI: The circulating on the social media platforms regarding injuries to the well-known cleric and preacher Maulana Tariq Jameel in a road accident turned out to be fake.
According to sources, Maulana Tariq Jameel has not had any accident nor has his son, while the viral image is of a person named Azad Jameel who had a road accident in 2019.
It is to be noted that the news of Maulana Tariq Jameel’s injury in the accident had been circulating
on social media since last day, which had caused great concern in religious and public circles.
After which Maulana Tariq Jameel, his madrassa Jamia Al Hasnain and his son were contacted by
various people. While a formal explanation has been released from the official Twitter handle of Maulana Tariq Jameel.
A message released from the official account of Maulana Tariq Jameel states that the rumors about the accident of Maulana Tariq Jameel are false and baseless. He and his son are in good health.
It should be noted that the image circulating on social media is of a person named Azad Jameel who is a
regular religious scholar and not a preacher.
